Installation Day Important Notes

ACCESS

Our installation team will need easy access to all windows and doors that are being replaced. Access to the outside is also essential. We recommend that you advise your neighbours that work is to be carried out, so they are aware that are installation team will need to park their vehicle as close to your home as possible. The team will endeavour to cause the least disruption as is possible to your neighbours.

NOISE

There will be some noise when the installation team remove the existing frames and then install the new frames. The installation team will take great care to complete the installation with as little noise and interference as is possible to yourselves and your neighbours.

DUST

Dust sheets will be used at all times in your home. There will be dust produced during every installation, even with the care we take. Any coverings which you wish to place over your furniture and belongings prior to installation will help protect them. Our installation team will come fully equipped with their own dust sheets, but extra protection is a sensible precaution. To avoid dust getting into other rooms, it is a good idea to keep doors and windows closed as much as posssible during the installation.

DEBRIS

We will remove all unwanted debris from your home and dispose of it safely.

CARPETS

The installation team will place dust sheets over your carpets to protect them. We ask you to remove any loose rugs from the installation areas as these constitute a health and safety hazard to the installation team.

YOUR EXISTING FRAMES

We can give no guarantee that any existing doors or windows can be removed in a suitable condition for re-use. If you advise the installation team that you would like to keep any existing doors and windows then they will attempt to salvage what you require. If it is not possible, all items will be considered scrap and removed with the debris. If there are any special door fittings; knockers, numbers etc., which you wish to keep, either inform the installation team on arrival or remove these before the installation commences.

SPECIAL FINISHES

Your home may have a special finish on the outside such as tyrolene, cladding or pebble dash. Our installation team will take great care to steer clear of disturbing them, but the technique used to install your existing windows sometimes makes this inevitable. The installation team will make good any disturbance with suitable/similar materials, but we cannot guarantee an exact match to the existing finish on your home.

DECORATION

The installation team will take great care to minimise disturbnace to the decoration within your home. Due to the method of fixing your existing windows there may be some disturbance to plaster, tiles and wallpaper. We will make good to plaster, where necessary, but we cannot accept responsibility for re-decoartion or re-tiling unless agreed in the contract price.

CURTAINS AND BLINDS

Please remove your curtains, pelmets, blinds and curtain rails, when fixed to the window, before installation. If you would rather our installation team to take them, then please advise them on arrival. The team will take great care, but they cannot be held responsible for any damage occurred during this process. After installation the team will put back what they have taken down.

NET CURTAINS

Your net curtain wire and rods can usually be fitted to your new windows and doors. Should you wish, the installation team can refit your net curtain fixings if they are suitable and serviceable. We recommend that you put your net curtains back the day after the products have been installed, to protect them from any wet sealant used in the installation process.

ALARMS

The fitting and setting of alarms is a specialist occupation. We recommend you contact your alarm company to remove these before installation, and for refitting afterwards. We accept no responsibility for damage to alarm systems that are not removed before fitting.

CABLES AND PIPES

We prefer not to intefer with cables, pipes or telephone lines. If you consider that any of these will be affected by the installation please contact your installation co-ordinator, or discuss your concerns with our surveyor.

DOOR BELLS

Dependent on type, the installation team will help in refitting your door bell, should you wish.
